Your Guide to Meaningful Change Meet Rebecca Isherwood-Smith

About Me

"With over 30 years of mental health expertise, I blend Occupational Therapy and powerful coaching techniques to support individuals through both professional challenges and personal life transitions, helping you thrive as a whole person."

My approach centres on three pillars: Reframe. Refocus. Revitalise.

These guide everything I do—supporting you to shift perspective, reconnect with what truly matters, and build lasting change that restores your energy and purpose.

As a Clinical and Managerial Lead in the NHS, I bring a wealth of experience in navigating high-pressure settings and supporting individuals through emotional distress, burnout, career changes, and recovery.

My coaching is grounded in real-world understanding and professional skill—combining mental health expertise with accredited coaching to help you move forward with clarity and confidence.

I understand that life transitions—whether a career change, relationship shift, health issue or loss—rarely happen in isolation. My approach explores the full picture: how your wellbeing, work and personal values interact, and how to create sustainable change across all areas of life.

Together, we’ll identify what matters most to you, uncover patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical, values-aligned strategies to support your next steps.

While I have particular insight into the experiences of those working in healthcare and the public sector, I coach individuals from many different fields who are seeking meaningful change, greater self-awareness, and ways to live and work with more authenticity.

At the heart of what I offer is this:

Space to think clearly, reconnect with yourself, and take empowered steps forward.

Originally from West London, I moved to Surrey 20 years ago—a decision that opened up access to the green spaces that now keep me grounded. Outside of work, I find peace in nature, whether walking my dog through nearby woods or simply pausing to be present in the natural world. These practices keep me connected to what matters most and remind me that growth doesn’t always come from pushing harder, but from slowing down, noticing, and realigning with purpose.

Empowered Minds Coaching grew from a desire to offer support beyond the thresholds of NHS services, which have understandably become more limited over time. I continue to value my work within the NHS and believe strongly in public healthcare, while also making space to support people in a more flexible and personalised way.

Clients often describe me as calm, grounded, and easy to talk to. Many say they feel safe to open up and explore difficult thoughts or feelings—something I never take for granted. Creating this kind of space, where people feel heard and supported, is central to how I work.
